Beast-smashers take Behemat's legacy personally. Where other mega-gargants measure themselves in loot or levelled cities, a Beast-smasher measures itself against the great monsters of the realms — and in the Era of the Beast, the realms keep supplying candidates. It stalks the wildest country hunting the largest and angriest things it can find, and comes home draped in the pelts, skulls, and tusks of everything that accepted the challenge.
In a Stomp, the Beast-smasher serves as champion and monster-killer both, striding out to meet enemy behemoths so the rest of the tribe can get on with the looting. The technique is simple and effective: a hurled boulder to get the beast's attention, then a club to the skull until the problem lies down. Gargants tell of Beast-smashers wrestling godbeast-spawn to a standstill, and unusually for gargant stories, some of them are even true.
