Hallowheart rises in the Realm of Fire above a wound in the world — a chasm of raw, unrefined magic whose glow gilds every tower and lends the city its restless, shimmering light. To dwell there is to live atop a furnace of sorcery, where the arcane seeps up through the flagstones like heat, and even the humblest street-sweeper carries a warding charm against the spells that pool in low places after dark.
Its masters are the battle-mages of the Whitefire Court, and they wield magic the way other cities wield artillery — abundantly, aggressively, and with a disregard for collateral ruin that unsettles their own allies as much as their foes. A Hallowheart wizard does not carefully husband a single spell; they draw great draughts from the chasm below and hurl them, trusting their wards to survive the backwash. It makes them the most powerful sorcerers among the free cities, and among the most alarming to stand beside.
Yet Hallowheart has little choice but to court the fire beneath it, for its wealth, its walls, and its defence all flow from the chasm. So its people learn young to live inside a controlled catastrophe, and count themselves fortunate that among the Cities of Sigmar their particular madness is at least a useful one.
Cities of Sigmar
Order of battle
The Hallowheart field the units of the Cities of Sigmar — a detachment from the roster:
Kindred formations
Other Cities of Sigmar formations
Greywater FastnessA fortress-foundry rising from the marshes of Ghyran, where the sky is permanent gunsmoke and the civic anthem is the ring of hammers. Greywater Fastness arms half the free cities from its Ironweld manufactories, and its answer to every threat is the same: more cannon. The Sylvaneth have never forgiven it the forests fed to its furnaces.
HammerhalThe Twin-Tailed City, greatest of all the free cities, built across two realms at once: Hammerhal Aqsha amid the fires of Aqshy and Hammerhal Ghyra in the green abundance of Ghyran, joined through the Stormrift Realmgate. Its Freeguilds are the proudest and most numerous in the realms, and where Hammerhal plants its standard, civilization tends to stay planted.
Tempest's EyePerched atop the Titanspear mountain in Aqshy, Tempest's Eye keeps eternal watch over the horizon and prides itself on never being surprised. It is a city of merchants, aelven outriders, and duardin gunners that musters faster than any other free city, with Kharadron trade fleets moored above its spires.
