Cavalier-Marshal

A mounted commander who leads the city's knightly orders from the saddle, lance couched, spearheading the charges that break enemy armies.

A Cavalier-Marshal is the master of a free city's mounted might, a noble-born or battle-raised officer who commands the Freeguild Cavaliers and leads their thunderous charges in person. From the saddle of a barded warhorse they read the flow of battle and choose the perfect moment to commit, for a charge loosed too early is wasted and one loosed too late is a slaughter of the wrong side.

Swift, proud, and relentless, the Cavalier-Marshal embodies the shock and glory of the knightly orders. Among the Cities of Sigmar they are the hammer that answers the enemy's advance, sweeping across the field to shatter a flank or run down a routed foe before it can regroup. Their presence lends the Cavaliers a fearless momentum, banners streaming as lances lower in a single glittering line. Where a Freeguild Marshal holds the centre with grim infantry, the Cavalier-Marshal ranges wide and strikes hard, and many a battle has turned on the instant their charge crashed home.
