Fusil-Major

A veteran gunnery officer who drills the city's fusiliers into a machine of disciplined volley fire, timing each thunderous salvo to the second.

A Fusil-Major is the gunnery-master of a free city's firing line, a hard-eyed veteran who has learned that the true weapon is not the gun but the discipline behind it. Under their command, ranks of Freeguild Fusiliers load, level, and loose as one, their volleys crashing out in timed waves that shred an advancing horde before it can close the distance.

Calm amid the smoke and thunder, the Fusil-Major watches the enemy's approach with a marksman's patience, calling the range and holding the trigger-word until the killing moment. Among the Cities of Sigmar they represent the Ironweld marriage of drill and gunpowder that lets mortal soldiers stand against beasts and daemons twice their size. A single mistimed order can see a line overrun, and so the Fusil-Major's nerve is tested every heartbeat, but a good one can hold a wall with nothing but powder and precision. To the enemies of Order, their volleys sound like the tolling of a bell that counts the moments left before the storm of lead falls.
