Freeguild Command Corps

A retinue of standard-bearers, drummers, and battle-hardened officers whose banners and barked orders hold a regiment together when courage falters.

The Freeguild Command Corps are the beating heart of a city regiment, the officers, standard-bearers, drummers, and champions who turn a frightened mass of soldiers into a disciplined weapon. Where the line wavers, a Command Corps steadies it; where it holds, they drive it forward, their war-banners snapping overhead as a rallying point visible through smoke and slaughter.

Each member is a veteran of a dozen sieges, chosen as much for nerve as for skill, for it falls to them to stand tallest when the enemy is closest. Among the Cities of Sigmar they embody the stubborn genius of the free peoples: ordinary folk who refuse to break because the woman beside them refuses to break. The thunder of their drums keeps time for volley and advance alike, and their honour-guard champions step forward to duel the monsters that would shatter mortal morale. When a Command Corps falls, a regiment often falls with it, and so they are guarded, and feared, in equal measure.
