Eightbound

The Eightbound are World Eaters who have survived a horrific rite of possession, sharing their bodies with bloodthirsty daemons of Khorne. Neither wholly mortal nor fully daemon, they are strengthened and warped by their passengers, fighting with a speed and savagery that outstrips even their unpossessed brethren and marks them as living tributes to the Blood God.

To become Eightbound is to endure a fate few warriors survive. In a rite sacred to Khorne, a World Eater is bound together with a lesser daemon of murder, the mortal host and the immortal killer fused into a single terrible whole. Many die in the joining, their flesh unable to contain the entity forced into it, but those who endure emerge transformed. Muscle swells, bone thickens, and eyes burn with a daemonic light as two hungers, the warrior's and the daemon's, become one insatiable drive to kill.

On the battlefield the Eightbound move faster than their bulk should allow, crossing open ground in a blur before crashing into the enemy with appalling force. The daemon within lends unnatural resilience and strength, while the Butcher's Nails ensure the host never hesitates. They are drawn to the strongest foes, for the greatest slaughter earns the greatest favour, and they fight with a coordination born of shared daemonic instinct. The Eightbound are a glimpse of what every World Eater aspires to become, warriors so given over to Khorne that the line between man and daemon has begun to dissolve.
