The Myrmidon Destructors were the warrior-caste of the Mechanicum's battle-cults, magi who had turned their pursuit of knowledge wholly toward the science of killing. Where lesser adepts studied creation, the Myrmidons studied annihilation, and they took a cold, ritual pride in the perfect application of destructive force. Each was a walking arsenal, his augmented frame festooned with the priesthood's most fearsome hand-carried weapons — plasma, volkite, graviton and flame — and each bore his augmetics as a warrior bears his scars. They fought in tight cabals, unleashing storms of energy-fire that could reduce elite infantry and light armour to slag in moments. To the Myrmidon Destructors, war was worship and the kill a sacrament, and they pursued both with the fervour of the truly devout. In the fratricidal fighting of the Schism, these battle-cults were among the deadliest warriors either side could field, their loyalty following whichever creed their forge-temple had chosen to serve.
