Koriel Zeth was a Magos Domina of Mars, mistress of the great Magma City that drew its power from the molten heart of the Red Planet, and among the most singular minds the priesthood ever produced. Where most of her kind swathed their science in ritual and mysticism, Zeth was a rationalist who held that the Machine-God was best served by clear reason rather than superstition, and she pursued knowledge with a rigour and an honesty that set her apart from — and often at odds with — the dogmatists of Mars. Her forge was a place of light and logic in an order grown fond of shadow and secrecy.
When Kelbor-Hal cast Mars into treachery, Koriel Zeth refused to follow, and her city became an island of loyalty in a drowning world. She stood against the Dark Mechanicum as the Schism turned the forge-sprawls into charnel-grounds, defending her domain and her convictions against the corrupted hosts that came to break her. Hers was a stand against the darkness her own order had chosen to embrace, a magos who kept faith with reason and with the Emperor even as the Red Planet burned around her.
