Aldrik Voldus commands the Third Brotherhood of the Grey Knights, the Wardmakers, and serves as Warden of the Librarius, master of the Chapter's psykers and of the terrible lore sealed within the Librarium Daemonica. He was raised to this office by none other than Supreme Grand Master Kaldor Draigo, and with good reason, for Voldus is reckoned the mightiest psyker the sons of Titan have produced in many long centuries. When his will is turned against the daemon, the very air seems to burn.
His ascent was as swift as it was bloody. In the span of a single year the Third Brotherhood buried two Grand Masters and raised a third. Valdar Aurikon fell when the brotherhood came to the aid of the Space Wolves during the Siege of the Fenris System, as the daemon primarch Magnus the Red descended upon that world. His successor, Doriam Narathem, was slain soon after by the Lord of Change M'Kachen amid an assault upon the fortress world of Longhallow. As Narathem died, Voldus loosed a psychic assault of such magnitude that, joined to his fallen master's sacrifice, it blazed across the warp like a beacon and guided the lost Draigo back into realspace. Together the two knights destroyed the greater daemon, and Draigo named Voldus Grand Master upon the spot.
Since that day Voldus has stood at the forefront of the Imperium's darkest hours. He led a furious counterattack against the Thousand Sons upon the snows of Fenris, his warhammer shattering rank upon rank of Rubric Marines into drifting dust. When the Thirteenth Black Crusade broke upon the galaxy he brought his knights to the defence of Ultramar, and there became a trusted counsellor to the resurrected primarch Roboute Guilliman, marching at his side from Macragge to holy Terra upon the Terran Crusade.
In war Voldus wields the Malleus Argyrum, a Nemesis Daemon Hammer forged across a full century by the blind artificer Hulliver. So perfectly weighted is the weapon, and so completely a conduit for its bearer's psychic might, that it seems to weigh nothing at all as it flies, only to land with the fury of a chained thunderbolt. At a single word from Voldus, cleansing flame erupts from its head, reducing tainted flesh, bone and armour alike to pillars of ash.
