The Purifiers are drawn from every brotherhood of the Grey Knights, gathered into a single sacred order reserved for the most spiritually flawless warriors the Chapter possesses. To be counted among them a knight must carry not even the faintest shadow upon his soul, for the Purifiers wield a psychic fury so intense that a lesser will would be devoured by it. Where common brethren banish the daemon, the Purifiers annihilate it, unleashing torrents of cleansing fire from consecrated incinerators and calling killing flame into being with a single word of hatred. In the press of battle they favour the Nemesis blade and the sweeping halberd, cutting through warp-spawn with an economy of motion that borders upon ritual. Each squad is led by a Knight of the Flame, a champion whose devotion burns brightest of all, around whom the others array themselves like the points of a blazing star. When a world lies steeped in corruption beyond any hope of redemption, it is the Purifiers who are sent to burn it clean, indifferent to the horror of the task and certain only of its necessity.
