The Grey Knights Chaplain is a warrior-priest whose battlefield is the soul, and whose weapons are faith, discipline and an unrelenting hatred of the unclean. In a Chapter where every warrior spends his life gazing into the abyss and enduring the ceaseless whispers of the daemon, the spiritual armour a Chaplain provides is no mere ceremony but a matter of survival. He attunes his mind to the brethren around him, and through this silent communion his litanies pass from soul to soul, so that no roar of battle can break their sacred cadence and no seductive murmur of Chaos can find purchase. Clad in black amid the silver ranks, he wields the crozius arcanum as both bludgeon and holy icon, striking down the foe while his very presence hardens the resolve of those who fight beside him. It is no small part of the reason that, alone among all the servants of the Emperor, not one knight of the Grey Knights has ever fallen to the corruption of the warp. Beyond the field of war the Chaplain tests the purity of aspirants and keeps faith with the memory of the honoured dead.
