The Rise of a Champion
Kaldor Draigo ascended to the rank of Supreme Grand Master through a lifetime of exemplary service, distinguishing himself in banishment after banishment and earning the trust of the Chapter's most senior warriors. He was regarded as a paragon of purity and martial skill, the very ideal of what a Grey Knight should be, and his elevation to the Chapter's highest office was met with confidence that the Grey Knights stood in the surest of hands.
But it was a single terrible confrontation that would define him forever. Facing one of the most monstrous entities the Chapter had ever contended with, Draigo achieved a victory of immense consequence, yet in doing so he drew upon himself the undying enmity of powers that do not forget and do not forgive. In the aftermath, he was torn from the mortal realm and hurled into the raging tides of the Warp itself.
The Endless War
Where any other warrior would have been consumed body and soul in an instant, Kaldor Draigo endured. Sustained by a purity so absolute that the corruption of the Warp could find no purchase upon him, he has wandered the daemon-haunted realms for what may be centuries, waging a lone crusade against the servants of the Dark Gods in their own domain. He carves defiance into the very substance of that unreal place, striking blows against horrors that no mortal was ever meant to face and living, impossibly, to strike again.
His journey through the Warp knows no fixed course through time or space. He is flung from one battle to the next, sometimes cast back into the material universe at the moment of greatest need, appearing amid a desperate battle to turn the tide before vanishing once more. Warriors who fight beside him speak of a silver figure of grim and terrible purpose, there and then gone, a legend made flesh.
Legend and Legacy
Within the Chapter, Draigo occupies a singular place. He remains its Supreme Grand Master, yet he cannot command from any fortress or council, for he is scattered across the eddies of the immaterium. His deeds are recorded as they are witnessed, fragmentary and impossible, a chronicle of a war fought outside the boundaries of ordinary reality.
His endurance stands as both an inspiration and a warning to his brethren. It proves that purity of soul can defy even the ravening hunger of the Warp, that a single unbroken will can carry the light of the Chapter into the deepest dark. Yet it also embodies the terrible cost of the Grey Knights' calling, for Draigo can never truly come home, bound instead to an eternal battle from which there is no release. He is the Chapter's greatest champion and its loneliest, a warrior who fights on in a war that will not end.
