Fenris

Fenris is a savage, ice-locked death world and the homeworld of the Space Wolves, one of the most storied of the Emperor's Space Marine Chapters. A place of towering seas, roaming ice floes, and volcanic upheaval, its very geography is lethal, shifting with violent seasons that reshape the continents and drown entire settlements beneath the waves.

The native peoples of Fenris live as hardy tribal warriors, dwelling on unstable landmasses and battling both the merciless environment and one another for survival. Only the strongest endure, and it is from these fierce clans that the Space Wolves draw their recruits, seeking out the boldest fighters to be tested and, if they prove worthy, remade into superhuman warriors. This harsh crucible shapes the Chapter's fiercely independent and pack-oriented character.

High above the storms, the Space Wolves make their fortress-monastery within a mountain called the Fang, an immense stronghold said to be among the most formidable in the galaxy. The world's brutal ecosystem, its monstrous predators, and its unforgiving climate all lend the Chapter its wild, wolfish identity. Fenris is thus more than a mere planet; it is the forge that hammers ordinary tribesmen into legendary warriors of the Imperium.
