The Legion Javelin Attack Speeder was a heavier, harder-hitting cousin of the Land Speeder, and its blend of speed and firepower suited the Raven Guard's raiding doctrine as though it had been forged for them alone. Skimming low and silent over broken ground, a flight of Javelins could range far ahead of the main strike force, scouting an enemy's dispositions before falling upon exposed armour with cyclone missiles and lascannon. The XIX used them to sever a foe's flanks and run down those who fled a shattered line, denying the enemy any escape from the killing zone their infiltrators had prepared. Fast enough to break contact the instant a battle turned costly, the Javelin embodied the Legion's refusal to trade blows it could not win, striking from an unexpected quarter and melting back into the dark before a counterstroke could land. Few weapons better expressed Corvus Corax's creed of the lightning raid.
