The Legion Vindicator carried a weapon the Iron Hands loved for its brutal certainty, a massive demolisher cannon that reduced walls, bunkers, and packed formations to rubble with a single shattering shell. There was nothing subtle in it, and the Tenth Legion counted that a virtue, for the Vindicator embodied the grinding, implacable force with which they preferred to make war: advance, endure the enemy's fire, and answer it with a blow that ended the argument. Its crews pushed the heavy tank into the teeth of the defence, trusting to thick armour and augmetic nerve to see them close enough for the cannon to speak. Where it struck, fortifications ceased to exist. Through the siege-wars of the Heresy the Vindicators of the Xth broke open the strongholds the traitors raised against them, proving again the creed that patient iron outlasts and outkills the frailty of flesh.
