The Legion Leviathan Dreadnought was a rare and terrible thing, a squat siege-engine of dense armour and devastating weaponry into which the Iron Hands sealed their most honoured ancients. Slower than a Contemptor and immeasurably harder to kill, it was built for the one purpose the Tenth Legion valued above all others, to walk into the enemy's strongest position and grind it out of existence. Its armour turned aside fire that would gut a battle-tank, and its guns and siege-drills unmade fortifications and monsters with the same patient inevitability. For a Legion that held flesh to be a weakness, the Leviathan was a kind of ideal, a warrior who had shed the last of his frailty to become a bunker that walked and killed. The clans committed them where the fighting was heaviest and the odds worst. In the vengeance-wars after Isstvan, the Leviathans of the Xth were loosed upon the traitors as engines of cold and total ruin.
