The Incubi are the pre-eminent warrior caste of the Drukhari, a brotherhood of mercenary killers whose skill at arms is legend even among their own murderous kin. They dwell apart from the Kabals and Cults in their own austere shrines, where aspirants endure a brutal regimen of combat training that culls all but the most gifted. Those who survive emerge as flawless instruments of destruction.
An Incubus is instantly recognizable by his sinister, close-fitting armour, the tapering helm crowned with a blade, and above all the klaive — a heavy, two-handed power weapon that few others could even wield, but which an Incubus swings with fluid, decapitating ease. In their hands the klaive becomes a blur of dismemberment, cutting through armour and flesh with contemptuous precision.
Incubi hire themselves out as bodyguards to the Archons of Commorragh, and a lord fortunate enough to secure their service gains protectors of unmatched deadliness. Yet their loyalty is only ever to the contract; an Incubus feels no true fealty to his employer, and the same warriors who guard an Archon one day may be paid to assassinate him the next. This chilling professionalism, combined with their supreme lethality, makes the Incubi both the most coveted and most feared warriors in the Dark City.
