The Clawed Fiends are great white-furred monsters that the Drukhari beastmasters prize for their sheer, escalating savagery. Standing head and shoulders above a mortal warrior, each is a knot of muscle and raking talons, its small skull housing little more than hunger and a boundless capacity for rage.
What makes the clawed fiend so dangerous is the manner in which pain transforms it. Where a lesser beast might falter when wounded, the fiend answers agony with fresh fury, lashing out ever faster and harder as its injuries mount, so that the warriors who hurt it most are often the first to be torn limb from limb. A cornered clawed fiend at the height of its frenzy is a whirlwind of destruction that can gut a squad in moments.
The beastmasters of the Drukhari drive these creatures forward with lash and goad, deliberately wounding them to stoke their rage before loosing them upon the foe. It is a cruelty typical of their kind, to turn a beast's own suffering into a weapon, and to stand back and admire the carnage as the maddened fiend does their killing for them.
