Chaos Sorcerers are the most gifted and most dangerous psykers to serve the Ruinous Powers, warriors who have turned from the disciplined battle-craft of the Astartes to the study of forbidden lore. Where a sanctioned Imperial psyker labours beneath a thousand restraints, a Sorcerer draws upon the Warp without limit, channelling its soul-searing energies into bolts of unnatural fire, withering hexes, and curses that warp flesh and reality alike. Their power is bought through dark pacts, blood rites, and the patient hoarding of secrets no sane mind should hold.
The first of their kind arose among the Thousand Sons, and it is to Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways and lord of sorcery, that many still bind themselves, though a Sorcerer may pledge to any of the Dark Gods or to none at all. Such warriors are misers of eldritch knowledge, forever hunting lost grimoires, daemonic true-names, and the rituals that might unlock still greater might. To command them is a double-edged bargain, for their counsel is priceless and their ambitions without floor or ceiling.
For all their might, Sorcerers are never truly safe. Every spell risks the attention of the predators that dwell in the Immaterium, and a psyker who falls from his patron's favour may be devoured from within, his body left a hollow vessel for some gleeful daemon. Mutation and madness stalk them all, the slow price of wielding powers never meant for mortal hands. Yet still they reach for more, certain that the next secret will be the one to set them above even the gods.
