Haarken Worldclaimer

Haarken Worldclaimer holds a singular and terrible office within the Black Legion: he is the herald who speaks the will of Abaddon the Despoiler to the doomed. Before a Black Crusade falls upon a world, it is Haarken who arrives first, delivering the Warmaster's ultimatum and marking the planet for conquest and ruin.

He leads the Raptors, the fearsome jump-pack assault troops of the Legion, and shares their predatory savagery. Descending from orbit amid the shriek of engines and the terror of sudden assault, Haarken and his warriors strike at command centres, defence lines and the hearts of cities, sowing panic ahead of the main invasion. His arrival is not merely an attack but a declaration.

Central to his role is a ritual of grim symbolism. Haarken bears a great spear known as the World Spear, and it is his practice to hurl this weapon at his chosen target upon arrival, a gesture that formally claims the world in Abaddon's name and consigns it to the Long War.
