The Rhino is one of the oldest and most enduring vehicles in the galaxy, and the Chaos Space Marines have driven these transports since the days when they still served the Emperor. The examples that rumble to war within the traitor hosts are relics of that lost age, kept running across ten millennia by dark rites, plundered parts and the grudging labour of the warband's artificers.
Its purpose is simple and vital: to carry warriors quickly and in relative safety across the battlefield, delivering them to where their bolters and blades will do the most harm. Armoured against small-arms fire and reasonably swift, the Chaos Rhino allows a warband to seize objectives, close with the enemy and mount rapid assaults.
Long exposure to the warp has changed these machines. Their hulls bristle with spikes, chains and blasphemous icons, and their machine-spirits have curdled into something malevolent, prone to fits of daemonic temper. Yet for all its corruption, the Chaos Rhino remains a dependable workhorse of the Long War, the iron chariot that bears the damned to their slaughter.
