The Legion of Azgorh is the great expeditionary host of the Chaos Dwarfs, based not in Zharr-Naggrund itself but in the fortress of Gash Kadrak — the Black Fortress — that guards the western marches of the Dark Lands. Where the priesthood rules from the safety of the ziggurat, the Legion does the empire's fighting far from home, ranging into hostile country to raid, conquer, and drag back the endless stream of slaves the forges demand.
It is a war-machine in the most literal sense. The Legion marches behind a wall of artillery and daemon-engines unmatched by any other army in the world: batteries of magma cannon and shrieking rockets, iron daemons hauling siege-trains through the ash, and ranks of Infernal Guard whose faith and discipline never break. Its warriors are professionals to the last, hardened by campaigns in lands most dawi-zharr will never see, and they fight with the cold, methodical cruelty of those who regard war as simply another industry.
At its head stands the Sorcerer-Prophet Drazhoath the Ashen, master of Gash Kadrak, whose ambition and long-nursed grudges send the Legion marching again and again beyond the empire's borders. Under his banner the black bull of Hashut has been carried into wars the priests of Zharr-Naggrund barely trouble to remember — but which the conquered never, ever forget.
