Hobgoblin Cutthroats

The expendable greenskin masses driven ahead of the dawi-zharr to blunt the enemy's charge and soak up his arrows — and knifed if they flee.

The Hobgoblin Cutthroats are the expendable masses of any Chaos Dwarf army — lean, sly greenskins armed with crude blades and cheap bows, driven into battle ahead of their masters to blunt the enemy's charge and soak up his arrows. The dawi-zharr spend them freely and without the faintest flicker of regret, for a dead hobgoblin costs nothing and there are always more where he came from.

They fight best when the odds are safely lopsided. Cutthroats will swarm a broken foe, pour arrows into a struggling flank, and knife the wounded with cheerful enthusiasm, but they are quick to flee anything that fights back in earnest — held in place less by courage than by the certain knowledge that the Chaos Dwarfs behind them are far more dangerous than the enemy ahead. For all their cowardice they are numberless, treacherous, and genuinely vicious when winning, and a horde of Cutthroats can drown a stronger foe by the sheer weight of bodies their masters were only too happy to throw away.
