The Legion Storm Eagle Gunship was, to most Legions, a versatile assault transport; to the World Eaters it was simply the fastest road to slaughter. Larger and more heavily armoured than lesser craft, the Storm Eagle could carry a full assault squad through withering fire and set them down amid the foe, and for a Legion whose every instinct screamed to close the distance, no other virtue mattered. XII Legion pilots flew with a recklessness that appalled their peers, plunging low over enemy lines to disgorge their howling cargo at the precise point where the killing would be thickest. Its heavy weapons cleared landing zones in seconds, though the warriors within cared little whether a foe was softened before they reached him. Wherever a Storm Eagle of Angron's sons touched down, a moment later the ground beneath it was drowning in blood, its passengers already lost to the song of the Butcher's Nails.
