When a single Land Raider could not carry enough killers, the World Eaters turned to the Legion Spartan Assault Tank, a vast super-heavy transport capable of hauling an entire oversized squad or a full complement of Terminators into the heart of a battle. Its enormous hull bristled with quad lascannons and heavy bolters, but to Angron's Legion these were incidental; the Spartan's worth lay in its cavernous belly and its ability to survive the crossing that would kill lesser vehicles. XII Legion crews drove them straight at the strongest point of an enemy line, absorbing punishment that would have halted an armoured company, until the ramp fell and a tide of chainaxes spilled out where it would do the most harm. For a Legion that measured every plan by how swiftly it reached the enemy, the Spartan was less a tank than a battering ram packed with butchers, hurled at whatever wall of foes most needed breaking open.
