The Legion Destroyer Squad wielded the weapons other warriors were forbidden to love, rad-carbines, phosphex bombs, and jump-pack speed put to the service of atrocity. In most Legions the Destroyers were held slightly apart, their trade regarded as necessary but faintly shameful; the World Eaters felt no such unease. To the sons of Angron, whose every thought bent toward the kill, a weapon that stripped the flesh from a foe or drowned a trench in creeping poison was simply another means to the only end that mattered. They ranged ahead of the main advance, seeding the enemy's ground with lingering death and hurling themselves into the breaches they made, and if the rad-weapons they carried slowly killed the bearers as well, the Nails ensured that no World Eater cared. They were the Legion's poisoners and burners, loosed where the fighting was ugliest and the killing needed neither honour nor witnesses.
