The Legion Sicaran Battle Tank was among the most advanced armoured vehicles of the Great Crusade, and no Legion fielded it to better effect than the Ultramarines. Fast enough to keep pace with a mechanised advance yet armed with the fearsome accelerator autocannon, the Sicaran embodied everything Roboute Guilliman prized in a weapon of war, speed married to precision and slotted seamlessly into a wider plan. Its hyper-velocity shells shredded infantry and light armour alike and could even swat down enemy aircraft, letting a Sicaran squadron screen an advance, hunt fast-moving prey, and shatter a counterattack in turn. In the combined-arms doctrine of the XIII, these tanks were the swift edge of the armoured wing, ranging ahead of the Predators to seize the tempo of a battle and hold it. At Calth and after, their speed let the surviving companies concentrate force where the Word Bearers treachery had left them weakest.
