The Legion Spartan Assault Tank was the greatest of the Rout's battle-transports, a vast slab of armour that could carry a full pack of Terminator-clad wolf guard through a firestorm and set them down amid the enemy without a scratch. Its flanks bristled with heavy weapons that cleared a path as it advanced, and its sheer mass shrugged aside fire that would have gutted lesser tanks, so that nothing short of the heaviest guns could halt its grinding charge. To the Space Wolves the Spartan was a promise kept, that the killers it bore would reach the throat of the foe whole and hungry, delivered to the close and savage war the Legion loved best. Where it stopped, the wolf guard spilled out to butcher whatever remained. In the campaigns of the Heresy the Spartans of the Sixth drove into the strongest lines the traitors could raise, and broke them open from within.
