A Legion Destroyer Squad carried the armaments the Imperium preferred to pretend it did not own, rad-weapons that withered flesh and phosphex that clung and burned and would not die. The Sixth Legion, executioners by trade, felt little of the shame that stayed other hands, for the Wolves understood that some things simply needed to be ended and cared less than most how the ending was wrought. These warriors bore the taint of their trade openly, shunned by squeamish allies and set apart even within the Rout, and they answered that isolation with a savage, wolfish pride. Loosed upon a foe, they poisoned his ground, burned his strongholds hollow, and left a wasteland where a defence had stood. In the Heresy the Destroyers were unleashed without the old restraint, for against traitors who had spat upon their oaths the executioners of Fenris saw no reason to stay their most terrible weapons.
