The Young Wolf

Bjorn

The Horus Heresy

In the age of the Heresy a mere Blood Claw, the young Bjorn fought at Russ's side long before he became the Imperium's oldest and most venerable Dreadnought.

In the years of the Great Crusade and the Heresy, the warrior who would one day be remembered across ten millennia as Bjorn the Fell-Handed was only a young Blood Claw of the Sixth Legion, one hot-blooded hunter among many in the packs of Fenris. He had not yet earned the honours or the terrible longevity that would make his name; he was simply a son of Russ, eager, savage, and desperate to carve a saga worth the singing.

Yet even then something set him apart, a ferocity and a strange, dogged endurance that his pack-brothers marked and his wolf-lords remembered. He fought through the defining battles of the age, close enough to his primarch to witness deeds that later generations would know only as legend, and survived engagements that swallowed better-honoured warriors whole.

The Bjorn of the Heresy was a beginning, not yet the ancient oracle of the Chapter to come. But the endurance that would one day see him entombed as the oldest living Space Wolf was already there in the young Blood Claw, waiting for the wars that would forge a mortal warrior into an immortal legend.
