A Contemptor Dreadnought of the Sixth Legion held a place of deep honour among the Rout, for the Wolves revered their fallen and would not lightly let a great hero pass into the halls of the slain. A warrior whose body had failed but whose saga was not yet ended might be entombed within the armoured shell of a Contemptor, woken to fight on when the Legion's need was greatest.
The pattern's swift, aggressive systems suited the Wolves' close and furious style of war, letting the interred ancient stride into the thick of the fighting rather than lumber behind it. It was in such war-machines that heroes like the young Bjorn would one day begin the long journey from warrior to living legend. Through the Heresy the Legion's Dreadnoughts fought as elders honoured and terrible, sagas given iron form and loosed upon the enemies of Fenris.
