The Nightgaunt Titan is a war-engine configured for concealment and ambush, sheathed in void-shrouds and baffling systems that let a god-machine of colossal size steal across the battlefield unseen until it is too late to flee. Favoured by certain shadowed Legios of the Collegia Titanica, it stalks the fringes of an engagement, waiting to loose a devastating first strike into an enemy's flank or rear.
That a machine the height of a hive-spire can move with such stealth is a horror in itself, and the Nightgaunt exploits it to the full, appearing from smoke and murk to gut an unsuspecting foe before melting away once more. In the Titan-duels of the Heresy, where god-engine met god-engine in cataclysmic exchanges, the Nightgaunt's ability to choose the moment of battle made it a prize beyond measure to any Princeps cunning enough to master it.
