The Orion Assault Dropship is the Legio Custodes' own pattern of heavy gunship, a broad-winged craft of burnished gold built to carry Custodians into the heart of the enemy and blast a landing zone clear before they disembark. Larger and more lavishly armed than the transports of any other force, it reflects the simple truth that nothing is too precious to expend in the guarding of the Emperor's household.
In the assault, the Orion descends through withering fire that would down lesser craft, its arsenal scouring the ground below, and deposits its cargo of demigod-warriors exactly where they will do most harm. It then remains on station as a hovering fortress of guns, covering the Custodian advance and denying the skies to any foe rash enough to contest them.
