Caladius Grav-tank

The Horus Heresy

The Legio's principal war-engine, a silent auramite grav-tank that skims above the battlefield and guts armour and infantry with iliastus and lastrum fire.

The Caladius Grav-tank was the Legio's principal war-engine, a grav-effect chassis of gleaming auramite that skimmed above the ruin of a battlefield with eerie silence. Twin-linked iliastus accelerators or a single lastrum bolt array gave it the firepower to gut armour and infantry both, while its anti-grav drive let it cross rubble, water and chasm as easily as open ground. Custodian crews handled it with the same disdain for cover their warriors showed on foot, driving straight into the enemy's guns and trusting speed and armour to see them through. During the defence of Terra, Caladius squadrons ranged the shattered avenues of the Palace districts, breaking traitor spearheads and reopening roads the enemy thought closed. Beautiful and lethal in equal measure, it was a fitting mount for the Emperor's own, as much a statement of craft as a machine of war.
