Constantin Valdor

First among the Ten Thousand, Constantin Valdor was the Emperor's chosen commander and, some whispered, the nearest thing to a son the Master of Mankind had made before the primarchs. He had stood at the Emperor's side since the earliest days of Unity, and it was his hand that shaped the Legio into the instrument it became — a host cast in his own severe and watchful image. Valdor bore the Apollonian Spear and carried a bearing that made even primarchs measure their words, for he answered to one authority alone and was not moved by rank, glory or threat.

Through the Heresy Valdor was the Emperor's blade and His conscience both, dispatched to sever loyalist from traitor where the truth was murky and to enact judgements no one else could carry. He harboured private doubts about the war's conduct and the Emperor's long silences, yet never once let them fracture his obedience. When the Siege of Terra came, it was Valdor who marshalled the golden defence of the inner Palace, spending his brothers with grim precision to hold the last wall. He would outlive the Heresy that unmade so many greater and lesser beings, and carry its weight in silence ever after.
