A Knight-Centura is a battle-leader of the Sisters of Silence, the highest field rank a pariah warrior of that order may attain, and she commands her silent sisters with a discipline as absolute as her muteness. Like every one of her kindred she is a Null, an untouchable whose soul casts no shadow in the warp, and in her the anti-psychic gift of the order reaches a formidable pitch, so that sorcerers falter and the daemon recoils from the void where her spirit should be. She fights alongside the Adeptus Custodes as their trusted counterpart, the shield against witchcraft that even the golden guardians of the Emperor cannot themselves provide. In battle a Knight-Centura wields blade and bolt with lethal grace, but her true weapon is command, for she directs the fire of the Prosecutors and the killing charge of the Vigilators with wordless, perfectly understood signals, binding her sisters into a single silent instrument of judgement. Where the enemy trusts to sorcery she brings its ruin; where they field a witch she marks it for death. She has spoken no word since taking her vow, yet her sisters follow her without hesitation into the heart of the unclean.
