Among the Adeptus Custodes, whose warriors are peerless in close combat, the Sagittarum are a specialised breed who have turned their inhuman gifts toward destruction at a distance. Where their brothers close to cross blades, the Sagittarum hold the line and reap the enemy with disciplined, devastating fire, their every shot placed with the flawless precision that comes of superhuman sight and reflex. In ages past they served as the watchful sentinels of the Palace's outer walls, scanning the horizon for the first sign of attack, and that heritage of vigilance defines them still.
What sets the Sagittarum apart is the fearsome nature of their armaments. Chief among them are the adrathic weapons, rare relics of a lost science whose beams do not merely wound but unmake, disintegrating armour, bone and flesh in a searing instant. Coupled with the Custodian's unerring aim, such weapons render the Sagittarum able to annihilate priority targets from afar, cutting down enemy champions and monsters before they can bring their strength to bear.
In the disposition of a Custodian force, the Sagittarum provide the anvil of firepower against which the foe is broken. They hold vital ground, cover the advance of their sword-bearing kin, and scour away threats that would otherwise fall upon the vulnerable. To draw near them is to run a gauntlet of disintegrating light, and few who attempt it live to close the distance.
