The Legion Javelin Attack Speeder suited the Emperor's Children perfectly, for it demanded of its crew the very thing the III Legion prized above all: precision at speed. Heavier and more heavily armed than a common land speeder, the Javelin skimmed low over the battlefield to loose lascannon and missile with surgical exactitude, picking apart armour and heavy weapons before they could mar the Legion's carefully choreographed advance. Emperor's Children pilots treated each pass as a movement in a larger composition, timing their strikes to unmask an enemy flank at the very moment the Palatine assault companies closed. Gilded and sculpted with the aquila, these speeders were flown by warriors who considered an inelegant kill scarcely better than a miss. In Fulgrim's Legion, where every action was measured against an ideal of flawless execution, the Javelin's swift and merciless accuracy was perfection given wings.
