The Legion Seeker Squad embodied the Emperor's Children's cult of perfection at its most lethal, for these were the marksmen who disdained the massed, imprecise volley in favour of the single, faultless kill. Bearing specially wrought bolts and finely tuned weapons, Seekers marked out the foe's officers, standard-bearers, and heavy weapon crews and removed them from the board with a discipline that bordered on the artistic. In the III Legion such warriors were revered, for they proved that supremacy lay not in volume of fire but in the flawless placement of every round. They ranged ahead of the Palatine companies, thinning the enemy's command and unpicking his cohesion so that the assault, when it came, met a body already robbed of its head. To be chosen a Seeker of Fulgrim's Legion was to be counted among those whose every shot was expected to be beautiful, and final.
