Harbinger of Excess

Julius Kaesoron

The Horus Heresy

First Captain of the Emperor's Children and among the very first to embrace the corruption that consumed the Legion whole.

As First Captain of the Emperor's Children, Julius Kaesoron commanded the Legion's foremost warriors and stood among Fulgrim's most trusted lieutenants, a veteran whose skill and devotion had carried him to the very summit of the III Legion's hierarchy. He had fought through the Great Crusade as a paragon of the Legion's ideal, and few could have guessed how completely that ideal would one day consume him.

Kaesoron was among the first of the Emperor's Children to embrace the corruption that took the Legion, his craving for sensation and perfection leaving him wide open to the whispers of Slaanesh. Where others hesitated at the threshold of damnation, he stepped across it eagerly, his flesh and senses reshaped by the warp until he perceived the world through altered, hungering eyes. Through the Heresy he led the Legion's elite into battle as a champion of its new and terrible creed, a living testament to how thoroughly the pursuit of perfection had rotted into the pursuit of excess. In Kaesoron the Legion's fall was written plainly: a First Captain who had once embodied an ideal now embodied its ruin.
