The Skorpius is a modern pattern of grav-tank fielded by the forge worlds, its hull suspended upon humming repulsor fields that let it skim over terrain, wreckage and water with equal ease. In its Disintegrator configuration it is a dedicated destroyer, a mobile battery built to range across the battlefield and rain ruin upon the enemy from beyond the reach of their guns.
The heart of the machine is its belleros energy cannon, a fearsome weapon derived from the forge worlds' mastery of contained plasma. Its blasts can be unleashed as a single annihilating bolt against heavy armour or spread into a scything storm that immolates massed infantry, giving the Disintegrator a versatility few war-engines can match. Beyond the main gun it mounts a rack of disruptor missiles to strip away enemy defences and a spread of cognis heavy stubbers whose machine-guided fire punishes anything that draws near.
On the battlefield the Skorpius embodies the union of speed and firepower that the Mechanicus prizes. It races to a firing position, looses a devastating salvo, and glides clear before the foe can answer, forever dictating the range at which the battle is fought. Squadrons of these grav-tanks form the striking core of a forge world's mobile cohorts, and few enemies relish the sight of them cresting the horizon, their energy cannons already glowing with building charge.
