Kataphron Destroyers

Kataphron Destroyers are heavy battle-servitors, their torsos fused to treaded chassis and their bodies rebuilt into mobile weapons platforms bristling with heavy firepower. Armed with plasma culverins or grav weapons of fearsome potency, they trundle forward as living artillery, mind-wiped and utterly obedient to the imperatives of their Tech-Priest masters. Massively armoured and pitiless, they exist for a single purpose: to obliterate whatever their controllers designate.

The Kataphron are among the most heavily modified of all the Mechanicus's cyborg warriors, so extensively rebuilt that they blur the line between soldier and vehicle. Their organic components are lobotomized and enslaved, welded permanently into armoured tracked bodies that carry weapons far too heavy for ordinary infantry to bear. The Destroyer variant is configured for annihilation, mounting some of the most destructive small-scale weaponry the priesthood fields.

A squadron of Destroyers can lay down an appalling weight of fire. Plasma culverins scorch enemy formations with superheated energy, while grav-cannons crush armour and bone under the weight of manipulated gravity. Shielded behind thick plating, the Kataphron can absorb punishing damage while continuing to deliver their lethal payloads.

Devoid of independent will, the Kataphron Destroyers act purely as extensions of their commanders' intent, executing targeting priorities with mechanical precision and no trace of hesitation. They are deployed to break the toughest enemy units, from heavy infantry to armoured vehicles, advancing slowly and inexorably as they reduce all before them to slag and ruin.
