Tlaxtlan

The City of the Moon, whose slann astromancers read the shape of the Great Plan in the wheeling of the stars.

Contents

Tlaxtlan, the City of the Moon, sits amid the highland jungles beneath the clearest skies in all Lustria, and it is there that the Lizardmen turn their gaze upward. Its slann are astromancers above all, seers who read the Great Plan not in the plaques alone but in the slow wheel of the constellations, the drift of comets, and the alignments the Old Ones set turning at the dawn of time. In Tlaxtlan's high observatories the mage-priests plot the movements of the heavens across centuries, and from those patterns they divine where and when the design will next be threatened, often long before the danger has taken shape.

This makes Tlaxtlan the city of prophecy, the one whose warnings send the other temple-cities to war. Its skink priests are famed as the finest augurs of their race, and its legions march to campaigns whose purpose the saurus themselves cannot grasp — striking a foe that has not yet risen, or holding a hill that will not matter for a hundred years. The slann of Tlaxtlan see the shape of the future in the stars, and they spend the blood of their city without hesitation to bend that future back toward the Old Ones' intent.
