Skink Cohorts are the swift and cunning heart of the Lizardmen's lighter forces, small reptilian creatures a fraction the size of a saurus but far quicker of hand and mind. Where the saurus are built to hold a line, the skinks are made to swarm, skirmish, and vanish — flitting through mangrove and ruin to loose clouds of poisoned darts from their blowpipes, hurling javelins, and melting away before the enemy can close. They are the eyes and busy hands of the temple-cities, serving as scouts, trackers, and handlers of the great war-beasts, and in their priests the skinks number some of the finest augurs and elemental sorcerers of their kind. Alone a skink is a frail thing, easily slain; in their teeming cohorts, harrying a foe from every side with venom and guile, they wear down enemies no phalanx could ever pin, softening the prey for the saurus and the monsters that follow.
