The Engine of the Gods is one of the most sacred and formidable war-beasts of the Seraphon, a mighty stegadon bearing upon its back an ancient relic-device of the Old Ones, a star-engine of incomprehensible antiquity and power. A crew of skink priests labours atop the beast, working the arcane mechanism to draw down the raw energies of the cosmos: with each successful invocation they may heal the wounded, blast the enemy with celestial fire, or even tear open the sky to summon fresh reinforcements from the constellations. The stegadon beneath is a monster in its own right, goring with a great horned crest and trampling all in its path, so that the Engine is as devastating in the charge as it is in its miracles. The device is a fragment of a lost science the skinks scarcely understand, and its workings are as unpredictable as they are potent. Where the Engine of the Gods rumbles forth, the heavens themselves seem to stoop to the bidding of the star-lizards.
