Tehenhauin is the Prophet of Sotek, a skink priest seized by a burning religious fervour rare among his cold-blooded kind. He preaches the coming of the Serpent God, a deity of vengeance said to devour the enemies of the Seraphon, and gathers about him vast crusades of the faithful known as the Red Host. Where lesser skinks are cautious and calculating, Tehenhauin is a zealot who leads from the front, his every gesture and prophecy inflaming his followers to a killing frenzy. He strides amid his warriors or rides a great beast bearing the sacrificial blade of the Sotek priesthood, spilling the blood of foes as offerings to hasten his god's arrival. Countless serpents answer his summons, boiling up from the earth to overwhelm the enemy in writhing tides. To the disciplined slann, Tehenhauin's fanaticism is an unpredictable thing, yet none can deny the wars he wins in Sotek's name. He believes utterly that every drop of enemy blood he sheds brings the Serpent God one moment nearer to the world, and he will drown the realms in offerings to see that day dawn.
