The Codewright is the living conscience and legal mind of a Kharadron company, a scholar-officer entrusted with the sacred text that governs every facet of sky-duardin life: the Kharadron Code. To the Kharadron Overlords, the Code is at once law, scripture and business contract, and the Codewright interprets its countless artycles and amendments with rigorous precision. He marches to war bearing weighty tomes and rune-etched code-plates, reciting the relevant passages to remind his comrades of the honour, duty and profit at stake in the battle before them. Warriors who hear the Codewright invoke the Artycles fight with cold resolve, bound by oath and ledger alike to hold the line. Though a bookish figure by trade, he is armed and armoured like any officer of the fleet, and he records the deeds of the company in exacting detail, that debts of glory and coin might be settled once the guns fall silent. In the Codewright, the Kharadron enshrine their truest belief: that even war must be conducted strictly by the book.
