The Aether-Khemist is a master of the arcane science upon which the Kharadron Overlords have built their entire civilization: the study of aether-gold, the miraculous floating metal that lifts their ships and powers their guns. Part chemist, part battlefield quartermaster, the Khemist ranges alongside the Arkanaut companies with an atmospheric anatomiser humming upon his back, sampling the air for traces of the precious element. With a barked command and a spray of refined vapours, he can supercharge the weapons of his kin, doubling the fury of their fusillades at the critical moment. He guards the secrets of his guild jealously, for the formulae he carries are worth more than a frigate's hold of treasure. In battle he is no mere scholar; twinned aether-injectors let him lash out with corrosive alchemical blasts, and his shrewd eye picks out the enemy's weak points with a merchant's cold calculation. To the Khemist, war is simply another market, and profit is measured in the enemy's ruin.
