The Squig Hoppers are among the most gleefully chaotic units of the Gloomspite Gitz, Moonclan grots strapped astride cave squigs that can do little but leap. Each squig is a near-spherical ball of muscle, teeth, and bad temper, and once it starts bounding there is no real stopping it; the grot on its back simply clings on, whooping and stabbing, and hopes to be carried in roughly the direction of the enemy. In great mobs the Hoppers ricochet across the field in enormous, unpredictable bounds, crashing down amidst the foe in a flurry of gnashing squig-jaws and flailing prodders. Where they land is anyone's guess — sometimes squarely upon a startled enemy line, sometimes atop their own kin — but the sheer velocity and savagery of the impact makes them shockingly deadly when they connect. Half cavalry and half falling hazard, the Squig Hoppers embody the reckless, capering madness the Bad Moon stirs in every grot fortunate or foolish enough to ride to war.
