Stabbas are the Gloomspite's arithmetic made flesh. One grot with a spear is a joke; the Moonclan's answer is to bring ten thousand of the joke. Beneath Bad Moon banners and the clangour of gongs, Stabba mobs shuffle forward in hooded masses, shields painted with the Moon's grin, each grot shoving the one in front of it toward the enemy and calling it courage.
The mob's true menace hides in its middle. Loonsmasha Fanatics — grots fed madcap mushrooms until their minds snap sideways — lurk among the ranks chained to iron balls, and burst whirling from the crowd the moment the foe closes. Armies that hold their line against the spear-tide laughing have learned, again and again, that the punchline is a cannonball with a grot attached.
